Chapter 21
I wondered why the hell a group of werewolves needed a healer, considering their genetic abilities were so superior to humans. But before I could say anything, the door of the shed was wide open, and sunlight poured in. I made a superhuman effort not to shrink even more as the heat touched my face and burned the way it did.
“Can I know why three of our warriors are hiding in the shed with the dying human?” Marcus wanted to know in a deep and unflattering tone. “Have you already finished your tasks for the day?”
There was a moment of hurry among the girls to answer, but I noticed that Kelly was in an almost uncomfortable silence. I tried to raise my eyes to see her facial expression, but a strange and acute pain forced me to close them quickly. As strange as it was, the sunlight seemed to be causing me more pain than I could have imagined.
“She just hasn’t improved for four days.”
“The alpha gave us orders not to leave her alone as long as she was weak.”
