Chapter 39. Nightmare
I was so tired, but there was no way I could close my eyes. I was sitting on Zion’s bed with my right hand gripping his tightly as Elena and another pack doctor ran around the room doing whatever they do to make sure he was okay.
“He is still unconscious,” I pointed to Elena even though I knew she could already see that. I don’t even know why I pointed out the obvious, but I couldn’t breathe properly because it scared me to see him so still, even when I knew he was alive.
“He went through a lot tonight, so his body is just recovering. He will be up and back to normal tomorrow morning, I promise,” She walked over to me and placed a hand on my shoulders. She squeezed my shoulders in reassurance, and I just patted her hands in return.
“Why don’t you get some rest? You look like you’re about to pass out soon. Let me give you something to calm your nerves enough to sleep,” Elena suggested, but I was already shaking my head in refusal.
