Chapter 227

Rey quickly dropped his blade, raising his hand to show that he meant no harm. The guardian was right when he accused him of channelling power from the fountain, but he couldn't explain it.

He felt this extraordinary strength, speed, and reflex when the Guardians were fighting him, and he was able to predict all the guardians' movements. The last time Rey felt this strong and awesome was when he went to the afterlife.

“I swear, I don't know how it happened.” He said it truthfully, hoping with all his might that the guardians would believe him. The least of the things on his mind right now is to infuriate other fountain guardians and make more enemies when he’s yet to solve the problem he came here for. Worse, Reed isn't here to advise him.

“Why should we believe you?” The third guardian, with an arrow, asked doubtfully. “You just fought and beat the three of us by using our strength and power against us. You cheated, didn't you?”
