Chapter 23

Josephine’s POV

Two weeks passed slowly, then quickly. It was the worst two weeks of my life. I’d spent it living in some low-budget motel that couldn’t even afford some spray for the bugs in the small room I got with the little money I had. Living the bad girl life on campus was quite expensive, as I later found out.

One week into my suspension, I received a wired transfer of some money with the description ‘Use it for your upkeep.’ Finally — I thought to myself — Alex had come to his senses and decided to at least make it easier for me seeing that he was deliberately ignoring me by refusing to answer my calls or return them.

I hoped to find out why he did that when I returned back to school.

The period of my suspension from school dragged to an end, and I moved out of the decent hotel I’d later lodged at with the money that Alex had sent to me and returned back to my room on campus. Elle seemed to have adjusted pretty well to living without having me around
