Chapter 66. Damon Is Being Trained
When the heavy gates finally closed behind Damian and his guards, silence descended upon the entire estate. Not a sound could be heard—no whispers, no footsteps, not even the usual rustling of the night wind.
The crowd began to disperse quietly, shaken and pale, some still trembling at the sight of what they had witnessed. The scent of blood hung in the air, thick and metallic, refusing to fade.
Theo remained standing in the arena long after Damian had left. His golden eyes stared at the dark trail on the ground where Samantha’s body had been dragged moments before. He wasn’t thinking clearly—just feeling. A deep, hollow ache in his chest that no words could describe.
Miko and Jihoo stood nearby, silent and uneasy. Beta Matt tried to speak, but one look from Theo stopped him.
“Get some rest,” Theo said at last, his voice hoarse and low. “All of you.”
They hesitated for a moment, then bowed and left quietly, leaving Theo alone in the cold moonlight.
