Book 1: Chapter 39

Enzo’s POV

Sitting in front of the sea of eyes before me, my mind is not even on the meeting going on right now. Michelle went into surgery four hours ago and how I want to be there for her but I am stuck in this meeting which she made me promise to attend.

Looking back at my watch, I still have an hour before everyone is done with their pitch and I am not sure how long I can take it anymore.

“Can you not go a little faster?” My voice resonates in the entire room and the man on the podium bows a little.

“Yes sir” he answers and I roll my eyes at him as my thoughts go back to Michelle.

I want to be beside her and let her know that everything will be fine.

My thoughts are interrupted when the mobile in front of me begins to ring and when I see the caller ID, my heart skips a beat. Michelle is surely putting me on my toes.

I pick up the phone and press it against my ear.
