Chapter 101
Dalia’s POV
“So, what’s the next step?” Chelsea asked as soon as she got to where I was sitting by the kitchen counter while waiting for her to finish up what she was doing.
“I’m going back to Texas,” I said softly and waited for her to last out at me again but she just sighed. “We need to be seated comfortably for this conversation,” she said and I nodded.
We moved into the sitting room and sat on either edge of the sofa before we continued our conversation. “Why can’t you just stay here?” She asked, barely concealing her hurt.
I wrung my fingers nervously and picked my next words carefully. “There is nothing for me here anymore, Chelsea. And he is here,” I told her softly.
“Even if I get another job here or try to live on, he will always find a way to get to me. I can’t live in constant fear and agony,” I said.
