Chapter 33

Alexander’s POV

Hearing her cry in her office hurt me but it was for the best. Her face when I told her she was just like every other woman that would open their legs because they got gifts from a man killed me inside, but I had to stand my ground.

When I woke up beside her on Sunday morning, I was expecting to feel neutral, just the way I’d feel with any other woman but the feelings that hit me were overwhelming.

I had the urge to trace out her beautiful cheekbones and run my hands through her hair as she slept. The fact that I woke up to her brought me peace and tremendous joy but that wasn’t what I wanted.

I wanted to be freed from the feelings she elicited in me, not be wrapped in it. I was angry at myself for letting what I felt for her come this far. I should have fired her the first day she came into my company.

I dressed up and went into the living room to stay away from her while she sleeps, lest I do something I’ll regret. I called Josi
