Chapter 68
Dalia’s POV
We got to Lara’s new store without any problems. Chelsea said along to the soft music playing from the car’s stereo. Amber had fallen asleep again in my arms while I just sat back and tried to not let my emotions overwhelm me.
The driver parked in the basement parking lot away from the eagle eyes, which made everything easier. We entered the store and were greeted happily by Lara herself.
“Chelsea! Dalia!” She exclaimed happily and pulled each one of us in for a hug. “Oh, my pretty princess,” she reached her hands out to Amber who went reluctantly.
I didn’t want to hand her over but I didn’t want to be so possessive either.
“It’s been ages since I saw her,” she said to me with a smile before turning to a shy Amber. “Oh, my gosh. You look so beautiful, I forgot how much of your father’s features you took,” she complimented her.
Chelsea laughed beside me and I tried to give a smile that doesn’t look forced either.
