Chapter 54. The Feast

In the morning, Amy opened her eyes. Her back hurt, but she frowned to see Samuel sleeping on the couch. She tried to sit, but it hurt too much until she groaned. It awakened Samuel. He rushed to the bed and held Amy’s hand. 

“My sweet, how are your feelings?”

“My back ached, and I’m thirsty.” She sighed a little. “I want to sit. Can you help me?”

“Sure!” Samuel helped Amy to sit and then took a glass of water for her. “Here is your water. Drink slowly.”

Amy sipped it and let out a sigh of relief. “I’m hungry now.”

He grinned and kissed her forehead. “I’ll order food. What meals do you want?”

“I don’t know. Help me choose?”

“Okay.” Samuel nodded. “How about chicken porridge?”

“What?! No! I want a big meal. I’m quite hungry right now.”

“Ah, yes, madam. I’ll try to think.” He grinned, trying to tease his wife. “How about hot chicken and corn soup? Then fried noodles and black pepper beef?”

She licked her lips. “It sounds yummy!
