Chapter 97. An Agreement

“For sure, I will ask Amy to return with me. Since we already had Shane, our son needs complete parents.”

Reese nodded though he looked elsewhere. “You are right. Shane is the most important one to consider. Considering his last name is Brooke, not Hoffner, I want to adopt him.”

“Not a chance! He’s mine!”

“Amy has never mentioned your name. So, it shocked me to know you were her ex-husband. But I want to tell you I won’t give up on her.” Reese stared at Samuel. “I love her.”

“I love her too! Besides, Shane is my son. I don’t know why Amy didn’t tell me about our son, but I intend to ask her.”

Reese said nothing since he knew everything. But it was between Samuel and Amy, and he didn’t want to interfere with it. He was sad because Shane didn’t call him daddy anymore. The little boy was his hope to have Amy’s love, but after meeting Samuel, Shane treated him only as a good acquaintance, not as his future father.
