Chapter 81. Start the Healing
I never thought I’d be going to see a therapist. Mostly because I couldn’t afford one, but also because I’ve never really thought about myself. I’ve always taken care of everyone else. When I got up this morning, Nathan was already up and getting dressed.
“Good morning, angel,” Nathan smiled. “Did you sleep better last night?”
“I did,” I responded. “No nightmare last night.”
“I have meetings this morning, but Marcus will take you to your appointment. Kimmy and Morgan are going to meet you after the appointment to go for lunch,” Nathan advised. “If you don’t feel like going out for lunch, they will bring you back here and hang out with you until I get back from work.”
“Nathan, I don’t need to be babysat,” I said. “I can be alone for a bit.”
Nathan walked over to the bed and sat down. “Amelie, you’re not being babysat. Your friends love you. They want to be here for you. If I could stay home with you, I would.” Nathan reached up h
