Chapter 129. Don’t Look at Me So Infatuatedly
With nothing else to do, she made herself a pot of hot tea in the kitchen and went to the balcony to read a book while waiting for Kane to return. The gentle evening breeze tousled her hair as she immersed herself in the book.
When Kane returned and didn’t find Lani in the living room, he went to the balcony to look for her. He found her sitting cross-legged on a soft chair, leaning back and reading, looking as lazy and content as a sunbathing cat.
Approaching her, Kane hugged her shoulders and kissed her hair tenderly.
“It’s been a few hours. Did you miss me?” Kane whispered.
Lani gently set the book down and sweetly leaned in towards Kane, wrapping her arms around him. Her smile was sincere and bright, her soft hands tenderly embracing Kane’s neck as she nestled against him.
“Missed you. Why were you late coming home today?”
Lani asked.
Kane lifted Lani, seating her on his lap as he settled back into his seat. Lani held onto Kane tightly,
