Mabel POV

A dance.

I told myself it would only be a dance as Alec Rivera led me to the dance floor.

But the moment his hand slid around my waist and our fingers interlaced, a maddening sensation coursed through me.

I closed my eyes just for a second and allowed myself to melt into the moment.

“Thank you,” he said.

I opened my eyes and looked at him. “Why are you thanking me?”

“For granting me the honor of a dance.”
