SCARLETT
I had lied. I hadn't gone to the garden and that was because I knew he was going to find me.
I had walked all the way to the northernmost part of the building, smiling at people— old patients, young patients, and other people who were polite enough to smile at me, but on the inside, I was a mess. A terrible mess.
I had seen a sunroom while we walked into the hospital this evening but I had only caught a glimpse of it. Thanks to my photographic memory, I was able to pinpoint where it was.
Now, I sat underneath a glass structure bathed with the palest of amber lights as I watched the night skies.
The hospital is beautiful. Ambient lights are everywhere and I can see people walking, talking and just enjoying alone time and I don't think I've ever seen something this genuine.
