SCARLETT

Finn was silent for the whole of the drive to the hospital. He was brooding and I noticed his jaw clenched and unclenched over fifty times. His knuckles were white as his fingers wrapped around the steering wheel and when I dared to ask him what was wrong, he told me it was nothing to worry about so I let him be.

We finally got to the hospital. He killed the engine and stepped down from the car before coming over to where I stood to pull the door open.

"Finn. Is something wrong?"

"Nah, nothing is wrong.." He said in the lightest tone ever but I knew he was lying to me. He wasn't telling the truth and it was obvious in the way he spoke.

"Stop trying to sound light-hearted. It's obvious that something is wrong. Are you going to tell me what it is or not?"

He sighed. "Later? I just want to know how Raya is doing before I say anything."

I caught his pinky finger before he could walk away. He stopped and looked back at me. "Promise?"
