Seeing two beautiful women fanning over me made me feel really overwhelmed. Raya got to me. She was exceptionally strong, cracking jokes about her condition, and now she was starting to see death as a necessary evil. 

Her mother wasn't pleased. Though she tried to mask whatever she was feeling with a smile, I saw the look on her mother's face. 

She had introduced herself to me as Eliana. I chose to still address her as Mrs. Davis. There was something about her that commanded respect.

After learning that she had lost her husband to cancer too, I had to give her credit for being the strongest woman alive. It wasn't easy to cope with losing a loved one to cancer.

Finn was stronger than I thought. He stood there, trying to make sure he protected them both. He reassured his mother whenever her eyes watered and laughed at Raya's weird jokes even if he didn't like them.
