Regina sat at the head of the long mahogany conference table, surrounded by her project team. They were engrossed in the details of their latest venture, a series of new luxury hotels in several popular vacation cities.

This project was the first one she had been supervising since her father’s death. It was her only chance to show her competence to the board of directors at Sanders Corporation. She needed to put Benjamin in his place.

Her disgusting and annoying cousin had been doing his possible best to spread rumors about her marriage being false. Benjamin had a good number of shareholders on his side.

So, her only way of making things turn in her favor was through the successful completion of the project. The blueprints were spread out on the table alongside architectural models, budget reports, and marketing plans.

Despite the riveting subject matter, Regina found her mind wandering. Her wayward mind kept straying to the events of last night.
