Chapter 52. The Truth
SASHA’S POV
“Sasha?” Lia asked, stunned.
“Sasha?” Uncle Vincent stared at me, equally shocked.
I... I had no idea what I was doing here. Why was I—why was I standing in this room?
It wasn’t just Uncle Vincent and Lia in his office at Safari. Five other people were there—two men and three women. And every single one of them was staring at me like I’d grown another head.
“Someone late to the meeting, Vincent?” one of them asked.
“Huh?” Vincent, still rattled, glanced over.
Lia spoke up. “Sasha, what’s going on?”
My whole body felt like it was on fire. Sweat poured down my back.
God, I’m such an idiot. Why did I follow Lia here and land myself in this mortifying mess?
“Oh crap! Why am I here? Wrong room! Sorry, please carry on!” I stammered, panicking. I spun around to leave—only to slam right into Dave, who’d chased me in.
“Sorry, Vincent. Sasha barged in. I tried to stop her,” Dave explained nervo
