Chapter 122
Damon's POV
As my phone rang, breaking the silence in the room, I quickly silenced it and glanced at the caller ID. It was my father, Bernard. Intrigued and slightly concerned, I picked up the call and greeted him.
"Damon, I need you to come to the house immediately," my father's voice was serious and urgent.
I instructed Warren, my loyal bodyguard, to keep this conversation between us, emphasizing the need for discretion. Whatever awaited me at my father's house, it seemed to be a matter of great importance.
Arriving at my childhood home, I was greeted by an icy reception from my mother. She wasted no time in unleashing her frustrations, accusing me of intentionally pitting her against Elysia, my wife. Knowing that I had pressing matters on my mind, I attempted to defuse the tension.
"Today is not the day for this, Mother," I asserted firmly, my voice tinged with weariness. "I have a lot on my plate, and I need to speak with Father. Where is he?"
