Chapter 44. Investigation

Alexander’s POV

“Nina!” I roared out behind her as she ran out of the room, hoping that she would stop and at least give me a listening ear but much to my disappointment, she didn’t even spare me a glance and kept running until she was completely out of sight.

As the door closed behind her, it echoed through the room and the only trace of her was of her perfume which still lingered in the air. A strange feeling washed over me, my mind a whirlwind of emotions as I stared into space for what seemed like an eternity.

I could not understand my emotions, though. I was intrigued by her resistance and at the same time… disappointed too. Amidst my emotions, I admired her personality too.
