Alexander’s POV

“I want the lawsuit filed by the end of the day.”

James nodded and quickly left the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. Legal action was only the beginning. I did not just want to win this battle—I wanted to destroy Allen’s ability to fight back. His reputation would be in ruins by the time I was done with him.

And then there was Nina.

My jaw clenched as I thought about her. She did not know about this yet. I had not told her about the legal case, about how deep her father’s involvement went. Nina was already dealing with enough. She had spent weeks digging into her mother’s past, unearthing secrets that were far darker than either of us expected.

A part of me wanted to protect her from the truth about her father. But that was a luxury neither of us could afford. I knew she needed to hear this from me, and she needed to hear it now.

I stood up, shrugging on my jacket as I made my way out of the office. The cit
