Chapter 96. Bastard
Nina’s POV
I clenched my fists tightly against the envelope, making my knuckles turn white from the pressure. In the envelope, I had safely packed my mother’s letter and all the evidence I had gathered, including May’s words, which I didn’t forget to record when she confessed to me. This deadly secret had been buried for too long; it was time to let it out in the open.
Finally, we stepped into the main building. Although it was magnificent, I could not focus on it right now; my main goal was submitting the evidence to the judge. Finally, we arrived at the clerk’s office and I handed him the evidence, my heart beating vigorously as I watched him scan through them.
“Is this all the evidence you could gather, Miss?” The clerk asked as he looked up to meet my gaze.
I nodded slightly. “Yes, that is everything, sir.”
“Alright then,” the clerk said as he packed everything properly into the envelope.
“Is… is it enough?” I asked nervously.
