Chapter 148. Christmas Present

"Leah, wait!" suddenly, Calvin stopped her when she was walking out of her apartment, ready to leave for work. Adrian offered to pick her up earlier, but she chose to walk because that might be the last time she would cross that path.

"Hey, Calv!" she greeted back, smiling casually.

"Um, I haven't had a chance to properly thank you for the help that you gave to my family. I knew Zachary is your friend. I didn't know why you denied it in front of Adrian, but anyway, I and Cindy and my entire family owe you a lot," said Calvin. She could sense the sincerity in his intonation.

She let out a long sigh. She admitted to Adrian that Zach was her friend, so she nodded. "No worries, I'm glad you guys are fine. Sorry, Calv, I'm late for a meeting," she said while gently shooing him away while checking her watch.

Calvin looked disappointed, but he nodded. "Oh, sorry, have a good day!" he said, raising
