Chapter 51

I felt nervousness in my chest as I arranged the things in my shoulder bag. I am going to my old house again to meet with the caretaker and ask about my mom and Manang Rosi. I really hope he knows where I can find them.

I fought my nervousness because I didn't want to be led by fear every time I thought about seeing Mama. I wanted to be strong when I faced her. I don't want to be weak in front of him when he sees me.

I took a deep breath to release my nervousness. I left the room and went downstairs. I overtook Kieron in serving food at the table.

"Eat first before you go, Daphne," he said to me, so I sat at the table. He sat down in front of me, and we started eating.

The food was great! Kieron is a great cook! It's a shame because he's a better cook than me. Although his specialty is pasta and Italian recipes, But what I do know is that he is also learning to cook Filipino foods now because I used to cook for him all the time.<
