Chapter 16. Betrayal

Rick finds me in his office when he gets back from lunch. I glower at him as he walks like he just invaded my office.

“Scot, really?” I say before he has even had the chance to sit in his chair.

“Of course, Chandler told you,” says Rick casually. “Did you get him to spy on me, too?” He sits in his chair and doesn’t shy away from my stare.

“No, actually. We had gone out to lunch when we saw you with Scot. I couldn’t believe it.”

“Am I not allowed to meet friends now?”

I shake my head and struggle to keep my emotions in check. I can’t believe this guy. “Meeting your ex, whom you last saw years ago, just after we’ve had a serious argument. That doesn’t seem suspicious to you?”
