Chapter 54. I Have Delt With It
Zayn stepped out of the black SUV, his tall frame cutting an imposing figure, one hand gripped a dark leather bag; the other adjusted the cuff of his suit. His steps toward the mansion were slow but deliberate, the sound of his shoes sharp against the clean pavement.
The guards at the main door bowed quickly, but their eyes betrayed them. They kept stealing glances at him, hesitant, as if their throats were stuck with words they dared not say.
Of course, Zayn noticed. His eyes narrowed slightly.
He shifted his gaze to Day, who walked at his side.
“Go find out why they’re acting strange,” Zayn said, his tone calm but leaving no room for questions.
“Yes, Boss,” Day replied quickly.
It wasn’t that Zayn couldn’t ask the guards himself. But his mind was already preoccupied—preoccupied with someone upstairs. The thought pulled his attention more than the strange atmosphere lingering at the entrance.
