Chapter 69. Came for You

Mia’s POV

“Cora,” I say as I immediately crouch down on the ground and crawl over to where she is sitting.

Placing my hand gently on her back, Cora startles and jumps away from me. “Go away,” she cries. “I want my mate.”

I look back at Luna Emma, still standing in the doorway. I can see tears welling up in Emma’s eyes as she looks in our direction. “I will leave you two alone,” she says as she quietly backs out of the room and shuts the door behind her.

Carefully, I place my hand on Cora’s back again, and she finally razes her head to look at me. “Mia?” She says with a soft sob. “They told me you were coming for me, but I didn’t believe them.”

“Of course, I came for you,” I whisper as I sit on the floor beside her. “You saved my life from Donovan.”

Cora lays her head on my lap and cries. “I failed you,” she sniffs. “I have failed you my whole life. You wanted nothing more than to be my sister, and I shunned you and treated you like trash. A
