Chapter 119. In Heat

Lucien stood still as he watched his mate end Damien’s life.

It only took the span of a single heartbeat for Aria to make her move. Not once throughout the entire encounter did he believe he would need to step in. He knew for a fact that Aria was powerful enough to deal with anything Damien could possibly do.

One moment, Damien was screaming in a rage as he attacked. The next, his head was rolling off his body into the snow, severed cleanly by a single swipe of Arias’ claws.

Lucien didn’t flinch, nor did he blink. He already knew Aria was not going to let Damien live.

A smile tugged at the corner of his lips, not for Damien’s death, he couldn’t care less, the bastard deserved far worse, but for the headache he knew he was going to get for it.

Damien’s father, Elder Faen, was going to hear of his son’s death in the next few minutes, the elders would roar for an explanation, and he would have to give them one.

But as he watched Aria straighten and h
