Chapter 85. Suspicion

Aria’s POV

“And that’s when he took Layla in as his child and vowed never to remarry again,” he explained.

“Wait… how old was Layla then?” I asked. I didn’t even know why I said it, but something inside me pushed the question out.

“Hmmm… she was three or four years old around then,” he answered thoughtfully, his left hand slowly massaging his temple.

“So you mean that the Gamma has no family now except Layla?” Caroline asked, her brow furrowed.

“Yeah… nobody to call his pup or mate,” he replied, his tone laced with sadness.

I felt bad for him; it must have been hard for him all these years.

I heard that he is a good man full of knowledge and wisdom. I think that’s why he is a business tycoon.

But why didn’t Layla have a good heart, considering she was raised by him?

The pieces of information that I got about the gamma still confused me like hell.

I haven’t seen Khalid for a few days, and that has me worried
