Chapter 28
Duke took one look at me, turned to his brother, and asked, “Did you invite her to your quarters?”
“What if I did?” Ruke asked.
“Enough, please. I am here to get my horse from you, Ruke,” I shouted, interrupting their quarrel.
Ruke laughed and walked to his chair that had the setting of a throne and sat down there with his legs crossed.
“You really have no respect for me. It seems you have forgotten who I am in this kingdom. Call me by my name again, and I shall have your tongue!” he shouted with a very loud voice, pointing a dagger at me.
“You would do no such thing,” Duke said.
“Are you challenging me?” Ruke asked his brother. Ruke then stood up, and his eyes became as red as crimson with no sign of a living being; it was as scary as hell.
“Shift back,” Duke said to me, and I went back.
