Chapter 98. Why Would He Help Her?

Despite those thoughts and the sudden confusion, Lucy kept flipping the pages. She turned one page after another but her diary only seemed to get bulkier.

And when she pressed on the paper, it felt somehow hard as she neared the blank pages. It wasn’t for now, she could notice it from the dates.

She kept pressing on that hard surface as she flipped the few pages that remained. And as the pages got thinner, the hard surface became more prominent. That spot didn’t flatten like the rest of the page. As if something was lying underneath it.

And when she got to the last page, that something came into view and her breathing hitched and her heartbeat came to a screeching halt in those few seconds.

It was in fact, an object. A round object with a red buttons. Her jaws dropped and she blinked at the sight of it.

What was it doing in her diary? Had it been there all along while she thought she had lost it? When did she even put it there?
