Chapter 67. I Should Have Paid Her Off

Lake was surprised that Ezrah did not catch his little trick and explained it carefully.

“Madison has a crush on Sebastian. Wouldn’t it be good if she takes his mind off Michelle?”

Ezrah smiled a little when the understanding sank in. “I thought you had given up on me.”

The waiter arrived with the drinks and began to serve them as Lake replied.

“I can never do that.”

Silence reigned for a while, but through it all, Lake noticed how Ezrah kept gulping down a large amount of liquor after the waiter left. He even ordered extra bottles.

“Ezrah, what is going on?” Lake asked worriedly, no longer sipping his drink. Ezrah did not want to talk about it.

It was his pain and his burden, therefore, he had to shoulder it all alone. “It’s nothing.”

He instantly recalled something, brought out his phone, and dialed a number. “I want to know everything about Rush Hendrix. I will double the price.”

Already tipsy from the amount of liquor he had
