Chapter 85. Don’t Even Dare

“Ezrah, what is going on?”

Lake was disturbed. Though he had been there during Ezrah’s worst moments, he had never seen the man lose himself like this before.

The emotions on his face were a scattered blend of fear, anger, resentment, panic, and loss. Lake could not make out which of these emotions was most dominant in his best friend.

Without a second thought, he followed Ezrah, who had stormed out of the office like he was crazy, not having changed from his previous clothes with dry blood stains on them.

Ezrah did not answer him, instead dialing Michelle’s number again, but it was switched off, so he called his spy on the phone. “Go to her house now. Rush is there.”

The desperate sound of his voice startled the spy as he responded in a rather calm tone. “What? I didn’t see anything strange.”
