Carter sat close to her bed, both his hands holding hers, a tender gaze at her as his lips widened in a smile. “ You got me scared ”.

“ Well, payback is a b*tch, you did the same a few days ago, and what I get as appreciation is a betrayal ”.

“ Really… Do you think I betrayed you? ”He creased her arm trying to keep her warm. “ Am sorry if I ever hurt you, watching you on her sick bed got me doing a lot of thinking, how do you feel now? ”.

“ Sore! But it's better than what I felt on that cliff, I was cold, scared, and lonely ”.

“ Am sorry, I can imagine because that is what I always felt each time I went to bed until you came into my life, and the thought of losing you drove me crazy ”.

“ When was the last time you took a bath? Because you stink ”Audrey held her nose with the tips of her fingers and squeezed her face in disgust. “ Alright, I will go wash up now, if you feel any discomfort, do not hesitate to call me ”.

“Of course, I will now go ”.
