Chapter 177. Family Reunion
Andrew’s eyes opened at the sounds of murmuring around his head. His heavy eyelids wanted to remain shut but he couldn’t dismiss the voices around him. The bright light nearly blinded him but as he blinked, everything started to take on a less painful hue.
A man in a white coat gave instructions to two women in green scrubs before he turned to go.
“Where are you going?” Andrew tried to sit up, but winced at the pain all over his body forced him back. Even worse was the pain in his left calf. It felt like someone had tried to scrap his flesh with a shaving stick. “Before you go, can you cut off this leg?”
The doctor smiled at him. “You woke faster than we thought you would. But painkillers ought to do the job and they are a lot less permanent.”
“Good.” Andrew leaned back in the bed, then sat up again. “Where’s Elaine?”
“I assure you everyone in the shed made it alive. You took the worst hit.”
