Chapter 15
"I don't know. I feel light-headed again."
"Are you serious D? It's not even thirty minutes since we started walking."
"That's the thing. I felt it."
"Wow, D. Something is really wrong with you. We've been dependent on that green liquid for five years now, and this is the first time you complain." Diana was well aware that something was wrong with her. She craved blood, but she knows she shouldn't have it, and the thought of it makes her gums ache.
Thirty minutes later, having arrived in the vicinity of the numerous skyscraper ruins, they proceed methodically down the side of the highway, slowly creeping out and keeping their heads down while making no noise.
As she walks through the ruins, Diana holds the flashlight so she can inspect every wall she comes across. As her eyes become accustomed to the darkness, with only a flicker of Ryan's flashlight flashing in their direction when she decides to turn
