"Yes, father," the youngster sobbed. Everyone felt really sorry for him. He was very inexperienced. They were aware, however, that Osmond was correct. Those laws and regulations had to be adhered to. It is what makes them unique and different from other supernatural beings. Because they were all obedient and scared of their law. It's what made them almost immortal. They became one with nature, following nature's law, and that made them live longer.
But Helena was aware that Osmond was expressing the truth in this situation. He adored his son more than anything else on the face of the mountain. But he cherished their law much more, and as a result, he was prepared to sacrifice him in the same way that his father had sacrificed their younger brother if the leader so desired.
