Chapter 30
Wetting her lips, Elizabeth put the earring on her ear and arranged herself beside the Alpha. She drank water slowly, feigning a bored look, and then said nothing but was suddenly surprised as a tremendous bang from somewhere resounded loudly enough to bring an unexpected ringing to her ears. Her werewolf hearing was sensitive to that sound, and all the werewolves in her father's banquet were all trying to muffle the noise in their ears. It was an enchanting noise to make them momentarily dizzy. Though humans were unaffected somehow, almost half of the guests were on alert, especially his father packs, but none seemed to change into their wolf form. Though humans were everywhere at this banquet, they would not risk it.
It was pursued by the crack of breaking glass—yet another fierce bang. Then, within a half-second, a strong growling shout from a male voice filled the banquet hall—probably the voice of werewolves, an Alpha. "Everyone on the floor now, get on the floor now!"
