Chapter 2
"Oh, no! The game I wanted to play was easy, so why am I guarding this kid?" Mark was grumpy when Scarlett was in his arms. He had just finished burying the mother of the child. Mark doesn't know her name, and he doesn't understand why she put her child in his care.
Mark said as he walked back to the castle, "Lord Marcos will kill me for this, but I have no choice."
When you look at the castle from the outside, it seems like no one lives there because it is quiet and dull, but when you step inside, you will feel a different vibe. The inside is brighter and has gold decorations in every room.
Mark told Scarlett, "This is your father's house, and when the time is right, it will be yours."
"And what do you mean exactly by that?" Elizabeth spoke as soon as she stood in front of Mark.
"Dear Lady Elizabeth... Mark had trouble speaking when he saw Elizabeth's face change. As soon as she smelled a human, her teeth and desire for blood came out.
"You have no right to let people into this fortress! Is it a gift for your new Lord Marcos?" Elizabeth asked, trying to calm down.
Mark bowed and said, "Excuse me, my Lady Elizabeth, but this kid is my Lord Nicolas' heir." He couldn't stand how sharply Elizabeth looked at him.
"Do you have a child? Is that a child? Did you think Lord Marcos would let you live after that stupid joke?!" Elizabeth's voice echoed through the hallway as she walked toward Mark, her eyes fixed on the baby he was holding.
"Dear lady, please don't kill me. This child's mother is dying tonight, but before she dies, she ties me to this child. I feel compelled to bring this child here and protect her because of this.Mark said this while he was shaking.
"Oh, my! Then the mother of this child is a witch! "And a sneaky one!" Elizabeth yelled when she took off the cloth that was covering Scarlett's face. Elizabeth stopped moving as soon as she saw Scarlett's eyes on her. As a child, Elizabeth was afraid of her because she could tell that she was better than her.
"The child's name is Scarlett. I don't have anything else. Mark said, "I don't know what her mother's name was because she died suddenly," right before he showed Scarlett's face.
"She is Nicolas's replacement. She is young and has red eyes... And that's why she's no longer on this planet!" Elizabeth spoke while looking disgustedly at Scarlett.
"Please, I beg you, my lady... This young person can't die. We can't kill this child because her mother said bad things about her before she died!" Mark's voice was shaky as he spoke. He took a step back when Elizabeth's claws came out.
"Are you a moron? If the witch dies, the curses she put on people will go away!" Elizabeth answers as she walks away from her stand and then comes back with her claws out, ready to stab Scarlett. But a light surrounds Scarlett before Elizabeth's claws go into her small body. Elizabeth's body was burned by the light, so she quickly disappeared and hid on the other side of the wall, where the light couldn't reach her.
"Scarlett, what did you do?" Mark said something in surprise. He doesn't understand how that light could have burned Elizabeth.
"Mark! If you want to live, get that kid away from me. "Castle, get out of here!" Elizabeth cried out. She came out when Scarlett's lights stopped shining. Elizabeth looked at her face. Even though the burn is still there, it is slowly getting better.
"Please think again, ma'am. You saw what was going on. What if the curse her mother put on her is still working? "Mark said, "Our country will suffer, and Lord Marcos will be very angry." He is relieved to see Scarlett can defend herself.
Elizabeth could not answer right away. Morris got it right. What if Scarlett's mother's curse hadn't been lifted? So, she decided to tell Marcos and then make a choice.
After giving it some thought, Elizabeth said, "Bring that kid, and let's hear what Marcos has to say about this."
"Thank you very much, dear lady," said Mark. Since Elizabeth has already agreed to tell Marcos about Scarlett, it is easy to get Marcos's permission. So, as Mark followed Elizabeth, he thought about what he could say to Marcos to get him to let Scarlett live in the castle.
Mark hasn't been to the second level of the castle since Nicolas died. Since then, a lot has changed. The picture in the hallway stands out the most.
Elizabeth told Mark as they went into the last room, "Let me talk to him first."
Mark quickly said, "Whatever you want, my dear lady."
Before Elizabeth goes into the main bedroom, there are three knocks on the door.
"What exactly are you looking for this time?" The first thing Elizabeth heard was an arrogant voice.
"Leave," Elizabeth tells Marcos' two bedmates. They don't care because they've seen this before.
When Marcos saw how serious Elizabeth was, he didn't try to stop her. When he got up to get a drink, he let the two kids go.
Marcos said, "Speak up," after he had a drink.
Elizabeth said to Marcos as she walked up to him, took the glass from his hand, and drank quickly, "It looks like Nicolas left you a big gift."
"A gift?" Marcos inquired, perplexed.
Elizabeth gave him a sneaky smile before telling Scarlett the truth.
"Get them here!" Marcos gave the order after he heard what Elizabeth had to say.
"Have a nice night, my Lord," Mark said with a nervous smile.
"It's not necessary to start with a paragraph. Elizabeth was there for me through everything. This is what Marcos says as he walks toward Scarlett.
"Oh, my God-"
"I'll agree. The child can stay in this castle, but you have to hide her.Marcos said that.
"Who does she belong to, my Lord?" Mark was curious.
"From my end! This child, especially her eyes, make me think of Nicolas! Marcos responded.
Even though Mark didn't agree, he did what Marcos asked. The only thing that mattered was that the child stayed in the castle.
"Right now, all I have to do is make sure you grow up strong and safe. And a few years isn't that hard," Mark sighed and murmured.
