Esmeralda secretly investigated Alejandro. She had never known him to be polite and kind to women, so she was perplexed as to why he was so rude to Scarlett.

"What do you think of my cousin, my Lord?" You appear to be interested in her..." Esmeralda asked a question after struggling with her thoughts.

Alejandro casts an emotionless glance at Esmeralda. "I gave her my blood, so this little lady is now my slave," he said mysteriously.

"Does this mean you'll bring her with you?" Alejandro, the little girl you're about to enslave is my cousin... "Can you do something special for her?" This was said by Esmeralda while gently rubbing Alejandro's shoulder with her finger.

Alejandro remained silent until they entered the room Esmeralda had indicated. Scarlett was positioned on the bed.

"I've talked to Scarlett's father a lot, my love... When he dies, I promise to look after her daughter in the same way that Lord Nicolas looks after my family and me."
