Chapter 81. A Sad Farewell
Adam soon returned with the doctor. They approached and the doctor winked at Anna, with complicity, and she returned it with a shy smile. Anna knew that he was acting like her friend, hiding Adam's pregnancy. She still couldn't understand how he didn't get suspicious, because whenever she looked, she could clearly see her pregnant belly.
“Are you feeling any pain?” The doctor asked, staring at Anna as if to warn her. She knew she couldn't take medication unnecessarily, and he was worried that her lies could put the baby's health at risk - after all, she was only a human carrying a wolf cub in her womb.
“I felt a slight pain in my head, but it's gone now.”
“Good girl. I'm going to examine your eyes. Can you follow the pen, please?” The doctor said as Anna obeyed, and looked at the faint glow of the penlight.
