I looked at Daniel to grasp his reaction to what he thought of my sudden presentation.

I hope I didn’t blabber nonsense. But Mr. Colhane beat Daniel before he could utter a word.

“Wow, Ms. Ella! You really clarified that well!” he gushed, and I bit back a shy smile.

“Are you a Head of Architecture in Howard Enterprises?” he asked me, and I widened my eyes, not believing that he thought so.

“No, Culhane! She is my assistant!” Daniel finally spat in a cold voice. His eyes were hard as ice, and he glared at the table in front of him as if he were angry.

Is he angry because his plan of embarrassing me failed? Or is he angry that his business associate is praising me?

“Wow, I must say you have a piece of pretty good knowledge about the project, even though you are just Mr. Howard’s assistant. Beauty with brains! I am impressed,” he said further, and I smiled at him politely. I bit back the disappointment I had from Danie
