The Truth About Getting Away

I was sitting here calculating all of my life choices, including the one that I just made about telling Maddy the truth about Ryan’s death. I cannot lie to her of a beat per se; I cannot tell her the truth either.

“He attacked me, and we got into a fight; he was going to kill me, so I defended myself,” I explained to Maddy staying as vague as possible so that I don’t have to lie to her any further.
