Chapter 60. The Spell

Max waited patiently for two weeks for the spell to be done on Helen’s advice - - such a spell can’t be performed when the moon is still appearing no matter the size of the moon in the sky.

After Helen lit the candle, she flips the pages of her sister’s spell book. “It’s time,” she said.

“Let’s do it.” Max took some steps forward to the table.

Helen stretched her right hand towards the bowl containing all ingredients needed for the spell and began to enchant. “We call upon the four elements to illuminate - - fire, water, air earth. Let the portal of the place of the dead be open to us.”

She flips to the next page to continue. Before she could read the next line of the spell book, the table caught fire and at the same time released a very powerful wind blast that flings Max and Jasmine away.

Max was slammed into the wooden wall and Jasmine into the mirror on the wall. When she landed on the mirror, she smashes the mirror with her back.
