Chapter 75. A Talk with Zac

Anna’s anxiety spiked at Zac’s cryptic response. “I don’t like being in the dark, Zac. Especially after everything I’ve been through, I need to know if there’s something I should be worried about.”

Zac sighed, his expression softening. “It’s nothing you need to worry about right now. I promise. Let’s just meet later, and I’ll explain everything. I don’t feel like here is the right place to discuss what I need to talk to you about.”

She nodded reluctantly. “Fine. But if this is just another mess waiting to happen…”

Zac smiled faintly. “Relax, okay?” He was weary, he hated being a human. He was at risk every second of the day of dying. But when he was a demon king, that was way different. He had power and was immortal. He had no worries when it came to death.

But this was something that had already happened. He could not do anything about it. He just had to get used to it. He had to get used to being on the lower end of the food chain now.
