Chapter 52. Upset Beyond Words

Amelia’s POV

“Where are you going, Jay?” I asked in a state of panic. I wanted him to understand badly and sleep with me for the last time before he left. Why couldn’t we just cuddle and sleep tonight? My heart was breaking to see him leaving me this way. 

“I can’t sleep here tonight without making love to you,” he said. “Go to sleep, I won’t disturb you,” he said before I could realize what he was up to. In a second, he opened the door and left without waiting for my answer.

I was too stunned to react. When realization struck that he really left me to spend his night elsewhere, tears started blinding me. I finally gave in and sobbed into my pillow. Why he couldn’t understand that what he asked wasn’t possible here? Every day mom warned us and I couldn’t disappoint her.
