Chapter 5. Going to Him

Walking in, I look around, hoping that Kane is awake.

"Alice." I turn to Jacob.

"Where is Kane?" I was hoping to see him.

"Asleep, come on." He walks upstairs, and I follow. I glance at the room, seeing it locked. I stop briefly and see Jacob staring at me. I carry on walking into the room with him.

He lies back on the bed and waits. I know what I am meant to do, but Lorenzo, God, I just made him promise only me and I am fucking things up.

"I'm waiting."

"I don't want to Jacob!" I say, my words quiet and weak.

He nods. "Then leave." I look towards the door. "Just don't call around tomorrow to see Kane."

"You can't do this!" All I want is my son.

"I can do anything I want. Now, are you staying or leaving, as you're wasting my time?" He sits waiting, and I hate myself. I never imagined he was this person. When I met him, he was wonderful.
