Chapter 14. Tense

Alice POV

Sitting on the bed, Iz smiles at me. "Lorenzo will be fine. He’s just shocked. Congratulations, as I'm guessing no fucker has said that to you about getting pregnant or having a baby." She laughs and hugs me.

"He's right." God, he is right.

"Maybe part of what he said, but not everything." She looks at Kane and smiles. Her eyes come back to me with a knowing look.

"I know, alright. To start with, no, but the more he grows, the more I fucking see it." I hoped he wasn't Lorenzo's purely because I knew he would hate me for not speaking. I also have no choice. Kane is part of this world. Do I really want that? Moving, she hugs me, and I cry.

His words only hurt so much because they were fucking true. I did pretend like Kane didn't exist. Every time I left that house, I pretended like he wasn't there to everyone.
