Chapter 36. Fighting Back

Lucia POV

I don't know what to say. My body stays still as he moves behind me, and I feel the rope release me. Moving, I run for the exit, his arms wrapping around me and dragging me back.

"He was angry. It was your fault his real daughter was dead. He wanted you to pay." His arms tighten around me. Screaming, I swing my head back, feeling it hit him. As his arms loosen, I turn, swinging my leg between his. Running for the exit again, he grabs me.

Lifting me, he throws me into a pile of bottles. The glass breaks around me and stabs through my body. Groaning, I try and stand, his hands fisting into my hair and dragging me forward. Screaming, my nails scratching against his arms. My body flies backwards onto the floor.

As I fight to get up, his body is on mine again.

"You're dying, either way, Lucia." His words are laughed at me. I know I will die, but I can at least make sure he fucking hurts in the process. H
